Autorretratos descritos con una écfrasis fascinante

"The third person was only a shadow. For a moment I mistook the shadow for my own, but then I understood that the artist had included it in the work."
Siri Hustvedt, What I loved

El párrafo que aparece en la fotografía es de la novela de Siri Hustvedt, Todo cuanto amé. Circe, 2003. Traducción de Gian Castelli.

El párrafo original dice así:

"They're all selfportraits," he said. "While I was working with Violet, I realized that I was mapping out a territory in myself I hadn't seen before, or maybe a territory between her and me. The title popped into my head, and used it. Selfportrait seemed right."
